After being a member for about a year and a half, Abbi was promoted to admin, which was really inevitable. She plays an insane amount of characters and has a list for everything. Magical Objects Plot Event

To ramp up activity in the plotters, we've got another plotting event! This time around, you guys can earn points by posting in plotters which can then be spent on exclusive magical objects. We've got a few rules to get out of the way before we can play though!

EVENT RULES

  • You have to keep a google document or something like that with links to your plotter posts so we can count points.
  • First come first serve. Whoever gets the points first and presents it gets the item.
  • When a magical object is purchased, it must be assigned to one of your characters.

HOW TO GET POINTS

  • For every plot productive post, you'll receive 1 point.
  • For the first plot productive post in an empty plotter, you'll receive 2 points.
  • A productive post is defined as a post in which a plot is proposed/discussed in detail

AFTER THE EVENT

  • The magical objects purchased will be added to the character's mini profile.
  • If the object is to change hands, it must happen in a thread or development story, and an admin must be linked so they can transfer the item from one account to another.
  • If the object is moving in a more straightforward manner, like from sibling to sibling, just let an admin know via PM.
  • The event ends when all magical objects have been purchased!

have fun babes!

love,

Magical Objects

unique items for the discerning collector

Naloth's Gift, 50 points, 1 available

Vika's Mirror, 40 points, 1 available

Domino's Lasso, 30 points, 1 available

Euclidean Lantern, 25 points, 3 available

Swift Feet, 20 points, 1 available

Diving Pearl, 15 points, 1 available

Naloth's Gift

50 points, 1 available

TAKEN!Forged by the legendary dragon Naloth for an ancient king of Lairea, this armor protects against all weaponized injury. Swords can not slice through it, hammers can not dent it. Arrows, bullets and even cannonballs bounce off of the armor leaving the wearer unharmed. All of the magic that went into making the armor invincible to weapons however, has left it vulnerable to magical attacks.

On the breast plate there is etched a Rotas Cross, the armor is bonded to warrior whose blood has last colored in the magical stave. Once bonded, the armor has the ability to shift with its wearer, accommodating both their humanoid and non-humanoid forms.

Vika's Mirror

40 points, 1 available

Vika's Mirror was made at some point in the early 1500s. While it is named for Vika, the fairy was not the creator nor the original owner, just the most famous of the mirror's early owners. She was an opera soprano and would use the mirror to make a doppelganger of herself on stage where she would then sign both the melody and harmony of the opera in tandem.

Through the years the mirror's doppelgangers have been found to be available to do more than simply stand there, look pretty and sing. The beings are corporeal enough that they can fool most sensory magic, and they can even fight. However the more the doppelganger does, the shorter it can stay out of the mirror.

Domino's Lasso

30 points, 1 available

Not much is known about the origin of the lasso before it fell into Domino's hands, but scholars have some leads. There are few remaining records of an invisible Amazonian lasso that had the ability to catch three horses at once, but those that are available don't mention any of the other abilities that the lasso has.

Records of a gifted woman named Domino, who has a lasso of gold that could bind enemies together with magic. The truth of the matter was that Domino tried to use her gift of spinning gold to destroy the Amazonian lasso after it fell into the hands of a bounty hunter in Lairea who was using it to catch supernaturals. The combination of incompatible magics forever altered the state of the lasso.

In addition to being able to connect enemies together, the lasso has become a conductor of magic, though this is something the user must learn for themselves. When one uses the lasso to link others together, a single spell will affect all those bound by the lasso, but it's just as likely that the spell will turn on the holder if they haven't practiced using the lasso sufficiently enough.

It's magic is powerful, but it comes at the cost of being awfully temperamental.

Euclidean Lantern

25 points, 3 available

Euclidean lanterns are a by product created whenever a genie is set free from being bonded to a lamp. As it was vogue for a long time to bind genies to lamps, there are several such lamps out in the world.

A Euclidian lantern can be used by up to two people to teleport across the world, all one has to do is to hold the place firmly in their mind while they light the lamp. Naturally this is easiest with one person. With two people if there isn't enough communication beforehand to get them to think of the exact same place, there is often the problem of them winding up between the two different places they were thinking of.

Swift Feet

20 points, 1 available

Alexios of Amalfi was behind the creation of the art of working magic into sculpture. Few of his artifacts survived into the 20th century apart from the ones stolen during the Visgoth raids of Rome. His most prized artifact was affectionately referred to as "swift feet" by those who held it.

The alabaster stone, at first glance, doesn't look as though it's anything of interest. The ever shifting mark on its face reveals its true nature. The stone grants minor possession of whatever animal in its vicinity matches the paw print on its face. The holder of the stone can manipulate the animal for short periods of time, they can even see through the animal's eyes as if they were their own.

The stone only works for a limited amount of time, and it doesn't work on shifters, but it still holds great power. An English witch who held it from 1342-1397 was known to command entire flocks of squirrels, and stories tell of a German fairy who once used the stone to drive hoards of rats into a river, thus saving the town of Hamelin from the infestation. Rumors that the same fairy then used the stone upon human children were maliciously spread by the townsfolk, though no evidence of such an event can be found.

Diving Pearl

15 points, 1 available

Created by one of the first mermaids as a way for the fairies to contact them in their homes below the water, the diving pearl looks quite ordinary for being such a unique magical item. Imbued with magic, the pearl seeks out treasure beneath the waves, as mermaids love to decorate their homes with precious stones and metals.

Once the pearl would travel beneath the waves to the nearest mermaid dwelling and attach itself. Whichever mermaid who spotted it would attach it to a smaller piece of treasure and follow the pearl as it returned to where the fairy dropped it. The popularity of piracy and the frequency of sunken ships has since rendered the pearl rather useless for its original purpose. It tends to head towards sunken treasure chests and so long as it weighs less than a person, the pearl grabs it and returns to whoever dropped it.
